Do R Part: Understanding and Responding to Interpersonal Violence*

You are now part of a campus community that cares about each other.  Here we work together to ensure we are all part of a safe and healthy campus. You have been added to an online module through Canvas called Do R Part: Understanding and Responding to Interpersonal Violence. This educational course is designed to provide information about forms of interpersonal violence, the resources available on campus, and ways that you can be part of the solution to ending violence. 

This is a mandatory course for all incoming undergraduate students. To avoid a hold on your spring registration, you must complete the course by September 1. This course is optional for incoming transfer and graduate students.

Welcome to Rutgers University – New Brunswick! We have partnered with the Rutgers Addiction Research Center in the Brain Health Institute to bring you programming designed to help you better understand yourself, so you can make the best choices across your college years. As part of this program, you’ll learn about Rutgers policies and procedures surrounding alcohol and other drugs, and resources available across the university to support your health and wellbeing. The All About U program is designed to help you think about setting yourself up for success at Rutgers. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

*Content warning: Participating in programs that focus on issues of sexual violence, relationship abuse, and stalking can be very upsetting. It can bring up issues that you have not thought about or perhaps cause you to think about past experiences in a different way. It is common for people to experience a range of emotions including feeling sad, angry, and/or inspired to take action.

No matter how you feel, it is important to take care of yourself. If the program becomes uncomfortable or overwhelming, take a break from it, get a breath of fresh air, or spend some time with friends or by yourself.
